Dimitri Leslie Roger (born July thirteen, 1992),[3] [4] professionally known as Rich the Kid, is an American rapper.[five] Signed to Rostrum Records,[six] [7] he released his debut studio album, The World Is Yours, on March xxx, 2018. His second studio album, The World Is Yours 2, was released on March 22, 2019, and his tertiary studio album, Dominate Man, on March thirteen, 2020.

Early life [edit]

Dimitri Leslie Roger was born in Queens, New York City, on July 13, 1992.[8] He is of Haitian descent and grew up speaking Haitian Creole fluently.[9] [ten] After his parents' divorce, Roger moved with his mother to College Park, Georgia when he was thirteen.[x] [eleven]

Rich the Kid said he grew up listening to Nas, Jay-Z, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G. & fifty Cent, just after moving to Woodstock, he started listening to T.I. and Immature Jeezy.[ten] His outset rap proper noun was Black Boy Da Child,[eight] only later on changed it to Rich the Kid. He attended Elmont Memorial Inferior – Senior Loftier School in Elmont, New York.[12]

Rich the Kid's showtime release in 2015 was a collaborative mixtape titled Still On Lock with Migos.[17] In August 2015, he released Flexin' on Purpose. The 14-track project featured collaborations with Master P, Young Dolph, Ty Dolla $ign, Fetty Wap and Rich Homie Quan.[18] In October 2015, he released Streets On Lock 4 with Migos with features from Jose Guapo, Skippa Da Flippa, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Lil Duke, two Chainz, Jeezy, Waka Flocka, Young Dolph, PeeWee Longway, Mango Foo, Slim Jxmmi, iLoveMakonnen, Tray1, Migo Domingo, Migo Jerz, YRN Lingo and Young Greatness.[19] Rich the Kid and iLoveMakonnen released Whip It, featuring 8 tracks on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015, with invitee spots from Rome Fortune, Migos, T-Wayne and Fundamental!.[20] [21] The next month Dabbin' Fever was released on Christmas Eve 2015, with features from Wiz Khalifa, Migos, Skippa Da Flippa, 21 Fell, ManMan Savage, Jose Guapo, Playboi Carti, Kodak Blackness and Curren$y.[22] He released his Trap Talk mixtape in April 2016, which features 21 Barbarous, Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti, Kodak Black, Migos, Famous Dex and PartyNextDoor.[23] In Oct 2016, he released his mixtape Keep Flexin' which featured Desiigner, Migos, Famous Dex, Jeremih, Immature Thug and Playboi Carti.[24] In May 2017, he collaborated as a featured artist on the Diplo vocal, "Backing", which also features Rich Brian and Young Thug (the song originally featured Justin Bieber instead of Rich Brian).[25] [26] [27] [28]

On June nine, 2017, Rich the Kid announced that he had signed to Interscope Records.[7] In an interview with XXL, Roger talked about his decision on signing with Interscope:[seven]

I was talking to different labels, Columbia, RCA, Epic, I decided non to sign with Epic even after L.A. Reid offered me a crazy bargain. [Senior Vice President of A&R at Interscope] Manny Smith & Interscope CEO John Janick empathize me and my vision for myself and also my label. Interscope gave me the opportunity to take over the game completely and that's what I'm going to exercise.

Rich the Kid released the single "New Freezer" featuring Kendrick Lamar on September 26, 2017.[29] The vocal was certified Platinum on March 27, 2018, by the RIAA.[xxx] His debut studio album, The Globe Is Yours, was released on March 30, 2018, and features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Swae Lee, Quavo, Get-go, Trippie Redd, Khalid, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Futurity, Jay Critch and Chris Dark-brown[31] with its second single, "Plug Walk" peaking at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. His second album, The World Is Yours two was released a year later on, on March 22, 2019. Information technology debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200, marking his second US summit x album.[32] On December 6, 2019, it was announced that Rich the Child departed Interscope Records and signed with Republic Records, while still remaining under the UMG umbrella.[33] He kept with the tradition of March-releases, with his 3rd anthology Boss Man being released on March 13, 2020, and subsequently mark Rich's commencement release on Republic Records.[34] He then signed to contained characterization, Empire Distribution[35] and released his commencement project with them, Nobody Safety, a collaborative mixtape with YoungBoy Never Broke Once again.[36]

On April fourteen, 2021, Rich the Child signed a multi-one thousand thousand dollar deal with Rostrum Records.[37] [38]

On October ane, 2021, Rich released Trust Fund Babies, a collaborative mixtape with Lil Wayne.[39]

Personal life [edit]

Rich the Kid was married to Antonette Willis and has two children with her. In March 2018, Willis filed for divorce, seeking full physical custody while giving Rich The Kid visitation rights and articulation legal custody. Willis is also seeking spousal support.[41] This was shortly afterward Willis defendant him of adulterous on her with Blac Chyna and Bharat Love, fifty-fifty alleging that he was in a relationship with the former.[42] Willis later claimed that Rich the Kid abused her and forced her to have abortions regularly, saying it was commonplace for law to be called to their residence for domestic abuse.[43] [44]

Rich the Child began dating Tori Hughes (professionally known equally Tori Brixx) presently post-obit the filing of the divorce. On June xv, 2018, Rich the Child was hospitalized following a home invasion at Hughes' dwelling house.[45] Co-ordinate to a police report, several men entered Hughes' home carrying firearms and demanded money. On March 26, 2018, Rich the Child formally released "Expressionless Friends".[56] [57] Following the release of "Dead Friends", Rich the Kid said he thought Lil Uzi Vert would not reply.[58] Uzi later responded on his SoundCloud with "Rich Forever Leaked" over the Chief Keef "Where" instrumental, to which Rich the Child responded to by saying "Fuck that nigga."[59] On June two, 2018, Rich the Child and Lil Uzi Vert confronted each other at a Starbucks in Philadelphia. The one-time ran from the latter shortly afterward. Videos of the altercation were posted online on social media.[sixty]

In March 2016, Rich the Kid started his own tape characterization called Rich Forever Music.[61] [62] The label's first artist signed up was Chicago based Famous Dex.[63] He also signed his showtime producer to Rich Forever Music, The Lab Cook.[64] In Apr 2016, Rich the Kid signed his 2d artist, rapper J $tash.[65]

The record label's first release was a 15-track compilation titled Rich Forever Music, and featured Offset, Skippa Da Flippa, Lil Yachty and OG Maco.[66] Before long after the release, J $tash parted ways with the characterization.

In June 2016, Rich the Kid signed a deal to have 300 Entertainment become a parent visitor for Rich Forever Music.[67]

On July 4, 2016, Rich Forever Music released their second project Rich Forever 2, a collaborative mixtape between Rich the Kid and Famous Dex, with appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty, Immature Thug, Jaden Smith and Playboi Carti.[68] In November 2016, Rich the Kid signed Brooklyn rapper Jay Critch to his characterization.[69]

On March 17, 2017, the label released their tertiary compilation mixtape The Rich Forever Way.[seventy] The characterization released their fourth compilation Rich Forever iii on June sixteen, 2017.[71]

In Feb 2018, Rich the Child signed Texas rapper YBN Almighty Jay to his label.[72] In March 2018, YBN Almighty Jay and Rich the Kid had a autumn out when Rich the Child released a song chosen Back Quick without YBN Omnipotent Jay'south permission.[73] In April 2018, YBN Almighty Jay did an interview with DJ Akademiks maxim he was never signed with the label.[74] [75]

In May 2018, Famous Dex stated he had left Rich Forever Music, and is an independent artist,[76] but Rich the Kid fabricated a post through the label's Instagram saying he is still signed to the label.[77]
